Tigerwood Deck Build with Natural Stone Steps to Lower Yard

Tigerwood is one of those materials that genuinely stops people in their tracks. The deep, rich color - that reddish-brown grain that almost glows in direct sunlight - is hard to match with any other decking material. And beyond the looks, it's a hardwood that holds up. Here's what we were working with on this one: a spacious deck build using tigerwood planking, paired with a wood railing system and black metal balusters that give the whole setup a clean, finished look without being overdone. The door landing step was framed and decked in the same tigerwood, so everything ties together seamlessly. Nothing feels like an afterthought.

The lower yard access was the other piece of this job. We set natural stone steps - thick, solid slabs with real weight to them - to connect the upper deck level down to the yard below. The flagstone patio at the base ties it all in and gives you a hard surface to land on at the bottom of the steps.
